Just noticed on my S 25 Ultra running 1 UI 8 that the touchscreen is now iffy and requires multiple attempts to select any item on the screen. Seems really picky and sometimes selects the wrong item

Yes, cache was reset and all the other stuff.

Did you check the accessibility settings to make sure the touch actions didn't get turned on during the update?

I think it has something to do with Home UI and the display settings

Did you clear the phone's cache partition? Samsung recommends doing so after each update.  They also have some screen calibration apps in the Play store, should you need to recalibrate your screen.

Sorry, missed that.  Did you check to see if you have touch sensitivity turned on?  This will make the screen more sensitive to touch. Do you have accidental touch protection on? This may make it harder for the screen to register an action.   Check both of those settings. You can try one of the screen calibration apps in the Play store.  There is one called touchscreen calibration.  It may help you.

It wasn't but I tried turning it on. I think it is because good lock and UI home in the 6x6 layout is the issue

I don't think the grid size would be an issue in selection and touch, unless the 6x6 layout has squooshed the apps too close together and/or made them too small for large fingers.  You can try changing the grid size or use a stylus.

Exactly what I meant I think fat fingers and small close together icons is causing the issue
