There is a way. Turn on USB debugging plug the phone into a laptop. Make sure your laptop has Linux or vscode or some other type of program to run python. You will have look at the phones files, identify which is the part for the load up screen and then replace it with whatever you want or delete it entirely.

Yeah,  I wouldn't recommend anyone trying to delete files from the phone since they could accidentally delete the wrong thing and the phone is toast

Yeah, I would recommend returning the device because they sold a Carrier model claiming it was a Unlocked Model.

Did you buy the device from a reputable retailer, or online like from Ebay etc? If a retailer, I would take that back and get my money and not spend it there again.

This. Buying unlocked devices direct from the manufacturer is always going to be the best way to ensure you actually receive the device you are supposed to receive.
