I've noticed that Face ID or facial recognition on the Galaxy S25 Ultra (and even on older models with similar features) tends to struggle in low-light or nighttime conditions—especially when the screen brightness is low. It often fails to unlock unless I manually raise the screen brightness.

I believe it would be a smart improvement if the phone could automatically brighten the lock screen briefly when attempting to unlock via Face ID in dark environments. This short burst of light would help illuminate the face just enough for accurate recognition, without requiring manual adjustment or turning on an additional light.

This tweak would enhance usability and make Face ID much more reliable and seamless during nighttime or in dark rooms.

Thanks for considering this!

@Alibaba444 The S25 Ultra already has that option.

  1. Open phone settings
  2. Click on Security and privacy
  3. Click on Lock screen and enter your password.
  4. Click on Screen lock and bioetrics
  5. Click on Face recognition.
  6. Enable the option "Brighten screen".
