Why does YouTube have a lock screen media controls and all set to silent?

I found this on a S25, can someone tell me why YouTube would have lock screen media controls and there all set to silent and off? Call me stupid but I'm confused.

Because you can listen to YouTube premium with your phone screen off or locked. This way you can pause it without unlocking your phone.

Thank you, that makes complete and total sense to me. However, I don't think I have YouTube premium. I could go on to say more, but I won't, this just explains something else I've been having to deal with. I appreciate your help!

There isn't a separate app for premium or regular. That's determined by your subscription model. Because of that, it requires those permissions regardless. It was easier for the developers to require it instead of determining your subscription and then modifying the permissions after it verifies your subscription.
