Galaxy S24I am aware of what carrier unlocking a phone does. You have to unlock the phone before you switch. If you try to unlock it after, the previous company may charge you for it or may require you to step back into their services in order for it to be unlocked. Most will just do it, depending on how long the phone has been off their service. This site is not "the company" it is a peer-to-peer user help forum, and we can do nothing about unlocking your phone. Galaxy phones are among the most secure in the industry. As evidenced by the very thing the OP wants to do and can't. If you think it's open to hackers or are being hacked, it is 100% user error - either by not properly securing their phones or their accounts. If you are dissatisfied with Samsung, all you have to do is sell your phone and buy another brand. It is not Samsung's fault you didn't unlock the phone with your carrier, nor is it Samsung's fault you decided to buy a carrier device rather than an unlocked one. Unlocking your phone from your carrier is *still* a different issue than the original poster's issue and you should have made a new post instead of hijacking this one.

Galaxy S24Because then you'll come here whining when you've messed something up or hackers took over your phone, not to mention voiding any warranty or insurance you have on your device.

Galaxy S24Is it carrier locked? You have to have the carrier unlock it. Most carriers require a phone (paid or not) to be on their service for 3 billing cycles. Depending on your carrier, you may be able to unlock it yourself through their app. In any case, it has to be unlocked by the carrier. Contact them. If you already left that carrier, they may require you to re-sign up and stay for 3 months before unlocking. This is not the same issue the OP is asking about. Next time you should consider buying an unlocked phone.
