Screen goes black

I just got this Galaxy S24 FE, only had it a few days & the screen keeps going black. It's not turning off or locking it's just going black. I have to turn the screen off & back on to get it 2 come back on. It happens at just random times, but it does happen when I'm doing something. It happened as I was typing this. Anyone know w.t.f is going on? Is it a setting? Is the phone messed up? HELP!!!!

It could be something in the settings where you can change the duration of the phone turning on. And keeping it turned on while texting or watching YouTube or something.

Nope I have that set to 1min & have it set to stay on when looking at it. But that's the thing it's not turning off the screen just goes black. Like I can still push buttons on the screen I just can't see anything.

Have you run a diagnostic on the phone?  You can find the diagnostics in the device care settings of your phone or through the support tab in the members app.  I never head of a screen timing out in the middle of typing something.  Sounds like a defect somewhere.  You may have to take it to a repair center for evaluation. Put in an error report. Is it still under warranty?
