After 20 Years of Loyalty, Samsung Has Officially Lost Me

I’ve been a die-hard Samsung user for two decades. Phone after phone, I’ve stayed loyal through gimmicks, bloatware, and the occasional glitch because the hardware was excellent and the experience mostly reliable. Until now.

This latest software update has absolutely destroyed my productivity. I rely heavily on voice-to-text for work—dozens of messages a day—and what used to be a smooth, fast workflow has turned into an hour-a-day nightmare. Every time I say "period," "new paragraph," or "exclamation mark," it literally types out the words. No punctuation. No formatting. Just chaos. And let’s not even get started on the broken capitalization logic. It’s amateur-hour software shoved into premium hardware.

Out of desperation, I tried switching to Google’s voice input. Worse. Slower, less accurate, and just as broken.

I’m disgusted. Truly. After 20 years, I’m two days away from walking into the nearest phone shop and buying literally anything that isn’t Samsung. Loyalty means nothing if your updates cripple the very features that professionals rely on daily. I didn’t pay over a thousand dollars to beta test your broken software.

Samsung, you’ve lost touch with your users. And you're about to lose a lot more of them. Starting with me.

Change your talk to text voice engine to Google Voice.  Settings/general management/keyboard list and default and turn on Google Voice typing.  You do not have to change your keyboard, just the voice engine.  If you use the Google Voice engine, you will get a . when you say period, a , when you say comma, etc.

Google voice typing works perfectly for me I don't know what you were talking about. I am typing this right now using Google Voice typing. Is it the fastest, no, it just works.

They said they were using Samsung TTT, not Google.  I suggested they switch to Google VT.

They said they tried Google Voice, it was worse. I have no problems with Google Voice typing. Again, I am using voice typing for this message. I don't know what else they want.

They must have deleted that comment, since  it's no longer here.  I have always used Google Voice, because I use Google keyboard, and I think it was on by default.

It's in the post. Out of desperation, I switched to Google's voice input. Worse, slower, less accurate, and just as broken.

Oops, sorry, didn't read that far down. If they had a problem with Google voice, maybe there's an issue with their phone. I don't speak to my phone often, but when I do, it's dead accurate, punctuation and all - if anything, it may be too fast, as sometimes I just don't catch the errors before I hit send.  Errors being it mixed up a word because I didn't speak clearly enough.  I think I mostly don't have to speak punctuation at all, as it seems to punctuate correctly.  I only add question marks and exclamation points.

Google Voice Typing works fine for me as far as punctuation is concerned, but for advanced functions like a new paragraph I'd have to agree with OP. Google just types that out instead of actually making a new paragraph. Maybe it wants a different command for that function?

New paragraph is a problem.
