I kinda convinced myself that it might be just a random thing but I did experience this myself too! Like touch suddenly doesn't work, I need to do the back gesture and boom everything starts working again. Looks like I am not alone!

Yes experiencing issues particularly since the 8.0 update. Camera freezes once it's opened, followed by refining picture hangs for a few minutes without even having taken a picture. Battery usage is getting drained by media picker. Tried clearing cache, storage on the camera app, hard reset, nothing is fixing it.
