No clue what happened, and this is the first time I've heard/seen this issue. I was scrolling on Threads on my S24U Ultra, then suddenly my phone went black and went through boot screens. However, the uptime in my Settings app didn't reset. Has anyone else had this happen?

Hello @Anthixious,

I can understand this can be a concerning matter.

Just to confirm, are you scrolling on the Threads app when this happened?

Does it happen every single time or just intermittently?

Have you tried clearing the cache from that specific app?

Navigate to Settings > Apps > select the app > tap Storage >Clear cache

This removes temporary files without deleting personal data, and help fix issues or free up space.

Also, make sure your phone and apps are up-to-date to the latest software version.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Yep, I was quite literally physically mid-way through a scroll on Threads when the screen immediately went black and through the boot screens. I don't even know if you could call this a restart because the uptime didn't reflect a restart. Everything was up-to-date when this happened and I haven't seen or experienced this issue since. Unsure how Threads' app cache could trigger this event. Further explanation is required on that one.

It sounds like your device may have prevented itself from overheating. If its happening repeatedly, try downloading the Good Gaurdians application from the Galaxy Store (It may not show on the Google Play Store), and install the Memory Gaurdian module. This clears the cache of far more programs than a stardard cache wipe.

If the issue persists, a critical program within the os may have corrupted data. A safe boot and partition wipe may be necessary.

As a first step i would use Thermal Gaurdian from the Good Gaurdians application mentioned earlier. This will show you if your device is getting too hot, and the load on your cpu as well.
