Photo Gallery and sorting not working

My recents album is messy and out of order. There's no sorting option unlike the custom albums. Is there a way for it to be in order again?

The RECENTS is not really an album it's just a collection of your most recent photos put together in one place. That's why there's no sorting option because it's not really an album.

Your recents "album", as stated, is not an album. It just shows you your most recently opened or added photos. It's usually arranged in the order they were accessed or added. It's meant for you to easily access your most recent photos wothout having to search or remember what album you moved them to. You can hide this album if you find it confusing.

The thing is, it won't really let me hide it. It's also the default album that appears on apps. Since it's disorganized it's just making things a bit more difficult. Is there a way for me to reorder it?

You cannot reorder it because it's not a real album. You can hide it from your gallery home by going to the menu and selectng "essential albums". These are the albums that will be in view when you open your gallery. You can select everything (or only the ones you want in view) except the "recents" as essential. Then you will only see recents if you select "view all". So this effectively hides the album. I have 4 albums in view. The rest are not essential. As you can see, the recents does not appear.

I'm 71, not technically inclined, i replaced my first samsung(9 years old?, by buying a galaxy A15 yesterday, Feb 8. I took two photos this a.m. (Sun) and all of a sudden my gallery switched the chronological order of all my photos. **bleep**!!

On the bottom of the Gallery page when you open it, there are three titles on the bottom.  Pictures, album, stories and then the line menu.  If you are in "pictures" view, your photos will be in chronological order and will show all your photos.  If you switch to "album" view, you will see the preformed albums: Camera, Screenshots and Recents (which is not a real album-deleting anything from this album will delete it from your phone), and any albums you may have created.  Switching to this view will show your albums and remain in this view the next time you open the gallery.  The gallery opens to your last selected view, so if you switch views at any time and close gallery before switching back, whatever view you were in will be the one it opens to.

Being 71 years old does not mean you can't be technically inclined, and you don't have to be technically inclined to know how to sort or read a menu anyway.
