Just got One UI 7. No mute button! Must go into 'Settings> Sounds and vibration' to mute.

Title describes issue. Downloaded One UI 7 on last day before the current 'pause.' Anyone else have this issue?

Nooooo ... you have scroll down to the sound setting. Its a pain in the **bleep**. I use that button several times a day. 🤬

You can put it back in the old location. Swipe down on the right side. Click the pencil icon near the top right. Then click the Panel settings on top left. Choose "Together "

I often times want to mute my phone discretely. Now I have to take it out and scroll while looking at it. This makes the process worse than it was.

If you are talking about the button on my screenshot in the notification panel you can edit the 6 buttons there by going to panel settings in the quick panel. Go to edit top quick settings.

What are your 6 buttons on the notification shade?

You can edit which buttons are in the 6 by going to the Quick panel, panel settings. You can also put them back together.
The mute button is the Volume icon, tap once for mute with vibration, tap twice for mute with vibration turn off also.

This does not apply.  The mute button is not available anymore, so it cannot be added to the 6.
