Is there an easier way to navigate my phone?

I find this phone too difficult to use. I bought it as a 2nd phone because it was Android . I also have an iPhone.  I miss most of my incoming phone calls because I can’t slide the screen fast enough . Opening the phone is time consuming also finger, plus PIN. By time I get it open I’ve forgotten what I was trying to do. Searching is impossible with messages coming out on the task bar.

Searching is impossible because messages coming out of the task bar? I don't even know what that means. Do you mean when notifications pop out of the selfie camera, sorta like when trying to use spotlight on my iPad and notifications interfere. Is that what you are talking about?

I'm not sure what you mean by this, but if you mean swiping to answer the phone, you can go in the Dialer settings and set it to tap instead of swiping.
