Galaxy S24Woke my Galaxy S24+ this morning and my home screen had changed, Settings icon and camera icons now have a grey background abd Spades and Solitaire icons had been added to my home screen.
Any ideas why/how these changes happened or how to fix it. I'm just conserned that something else has been changed that I cannot see.
Thanks

Galaxy S24Your carrier sent the update. If you have new games on your phone, I'm guessing you have a carrier locked device, and the carriers add stuff like that to the updates. It is in the fine print of your purchase agreement that they can do that. You can check your update version by going to settings/about phone/software information. It should tell you that your Android version is now 15 and your OneUI is 7.0

Galaxy S24If you want your apps in the app drawer in alphabetical order, you have to keep the vertical scroll. If you prefer the page view/scroll, you have to change the sort order to "custom" by tapping the dot menu in the search bar. Your apps will be in random order initially and you will have to arrange them in the order you want.

Galaxy S24I want my apps back to horizontal as well, not sure what genius at Samsung thought it was a good idea to not put them in alphabetical order if putting them back horizontal instead of that stupid vertical.
Must be the same person who decided the changing the power key to Gemini was a good idea.

Galaxy S24I cannot make your apps go back to alpha order in horizontal scroll view, but I do agree with you, it should be an easy thing to do. Instead of making an option for custom/alpha sort and making it either/or, they could have just kept the option for alpha/custom and added a toggle for horizontal or vertical scroll. What if you like vertical scroll but want to put your apps in custom order? One cannot do that either, they are stuck with alpha/vertical or custom/horizontal.

Galaxy S24Have tried to use vertical scrolling on the app menu? I didn't even know it was an option but maybe I changed it when I got the phone last year and don't remember. But, I had horizontal scrolling for a while and on the Beta and the update to the stable version must have changed it. I did find the solution to change in back to horizontal but then after paying around with it I actually now prefer Vertical scrolling. I even changed it to 5 columns to make it more compact. To help shorten the list even more I combined Samsung apps, Microsoft apps and Google apps into there own folder/file. My scroll list is barely over a page but I have an S24 with a small screen, on the plus or ultra I don't even think it would be a page. If horizontal had alphabetizing it might be possible I would have stayed on that but hard to say since it isn't an option.
As for Gemini, you can remove it from the side button in settings. I didn't care for the fact that the swipe up from the corner was removed but I don't know if Samsung had a choice since it was removed on Pixel devices a couple models ago. I had turned on "Hey Google", "OK Google" works also, and don't even miss the swipe up from the corner now but I rarely used the swipe gesture anyway.
I know people hate change including myself, but once I got used to some of the new stuff I actually prefer it over the old way. There are things I don't like, the battery icon is one and since I started playing with widgets the small ones are capsule shaped and I think they just look goofy. Don't understand what developers were thinking there.
