Google search widget not functional with the latest Google beta update

The google search widget doesn't allow me to do anything with it on latest Google beta update. Anyone else have this problem.

It doesn't allow me to put text in it. So doesnt function at all

Same. If I remove the widget and add it back it will work temporarily. But eventually it doesn't respond to a touch.
