Get rid of star icon when selecting?

I'm having issues when selecting and I think it's due to the AI even though I never turned it on (never even accepted the terms and conditions) and have it set to process only on this device.

I try to select one word and get several or the whole sentence. When I select or try to copy and paste, there's a star icon that I accidentally keep tapping and tries to get me to use Writing Assistant AI which I don't want. It wasn't like this prior to the AI update.

Do I have to accept the TOS just to turn this off? I'm sick of AI. I'd brick my phone just to disable it.

I dont have Gemini. Trying to change anything with it tries to make me log into Google.

Yes but I don't have it, this is samsung's writing AI that I'm trying to disable the button for (despite having never enabled it).

Try the ai galaxy in settings at top

Sorry, I think that icon will always be there as long as Galaxy AI lives on the phone, whether or not you've opted in to those features. Samsung will push the features, hoping people will enable them.

That really sucks. Thank you for trying to help though. I hope this AI bubble bursts so badly every company backpedals and removes it or at least stops forcing it.

I'm with you. The sense I get is that most people don't want or don't care about AI, yet it's being shoved into every nook and cranny of our devices. We'll just have to wait and see how big this bubble gets before it bursts.
