Fade out lock screen

I seen you can add an effect to make the sreens fade out like lock screen when you open phone where do I get this effect

I'm not aware of any screen effects. Do you mean double tap to turn off screen? It's under settings > advanced features > motions and gestures.

I use to use it before ambient weather hot my phone. Love that!

As @Mujibar mentioned theres the double tap to wake up screen and to dim or turn off screen

You would need to use Good Lock and the module Wonderland to get the effect you are describing.
