Galaxy S24It's supposed to do that. It's supposed to be a small handle on the side of your screen when collapsed, but expand to take up the length of your screen from just under the status bar to above the navigation bar. It should be one or two columns wide depending on which panels you have active. It is also meant to overlay the home screen and any app that is open. It is meant to be a shortcut panel to quickly get to a feature or app without having to close out what you are doing, not something that stays open indefinitely.
It's always been that size. I don't know what you had before, but even on my older device which only has Android 13/OneUI5.1, it's the same length.

Galaxy S24No. The bug was probably that you were able to reduce it by adjusting the dpi. There are some settings in home up regarding the edge panels, but I don't believe size reduction was one of them. Here you now have several people telling you that this is the normal size of the panel. Why does it bother you so much - it's not like it's visible at all tomes and interfering with app usage.

Galaxy S24You are not obligated to use the edge panels if you find it annoying.
