I am trying to find some solution about my S24 plus drastic increase in RAM use after recent updates (from an avg of 6 GB to 9.5 GB). I have S24 plus a year old mobile phone, earlier the RAM usage was very less at approx 6 GB but now it has increase to 9.5 GB in ideal usage. On checking the memory usage tab many application are running in the background which I didnt even used, sometimes the app are showing running twice in background sucking significant RAM. My extend RAM option is also disabled.
Hey, I've got 12 years on you. So, don't tell me you've been working on computers since before I was born. Once again. RAM IS MEANT TO BE USED. It does not matter what it idled at before, or what other phones did. Your phone is not idle just because you are not using it. With a new OS comes new features, and those features do stuff in the background. I can tell you that I never once looked at my RAM use, because it's irrelevant unless it's hanging something up. People who pay so much attention to something so irrelevant are just looking for something to be mad about. Now, if you said your battery was suddenly taking a nosedive and it was beyond the re-learning period, that's a different story; but RAM, pfft.
If you are finding apps running in the background that you are not using, turn on the setting to put unused apps to sleep in the background usage limits, and then select those apps that you don't use regularly to sleep or into deep sleep. They will all still work when you open them to use them (you may have to re-grant some permissions), but they will not run in the background to update. You can also elect to have certain apps never go to sleep.
This is my sixth samsung S series phone since S7 Edge only two could make thru.
ALL other phones either developed lines on screen, or became too slow with software over load.
This S24 + is also now behaving abnormally. Too much RAM is a major issue. Yesterday it was 10 GB almost without any app opened in background or any major app running it was literally idle.
Samsung is making our phones slow deliberately. Where there is new model is out they come with some update and the phone starts behaving erratically.
Yep I'm experiencing the same issues on mine and I agree with you 100%, I don't think there is a fix these phones are never going to make it 7 years of updates I'm also having serious battery issues I'm charging it 3 times daily.
