Can't reply to group messages

Good morning, everyone. I pray all is well. I have a Galaxy S24 Plus, and I'm unable to reply to some group texts. Is there a fix for this issue? Please help.

@SweetDeb If you are able to reply to some group messages, it would seem that the issue is with that group. 

Are you using Samsung Messages or Google Messages?

Exactly what happens when you try to reply to the troublesome group messages?

No, I am not using either one of those messages. I did play around with Google Messages but I switched back to the regular messages. When I receive a group text and try to reply, but the area is grayed out, I can not type in the comment section.

If not Samsung or Google, what Messages app are you using?

I guess the messages app that came with the phone. Not sure 😕 🤷‍♀️

I am in a church group text and my Pastor has an iPhone.

Does the icon look like this? If so it is Samsung Messages.

It's possible that the Group conversation is using RCS. Samsung Messages doesn't have full RCS capabilites on some carriers.

Google Messages might work better for you.

But in reality it is best to switch to WhatsApp, or similar app, for group Messages. That eliminates the proprietary Apple messaging system which often is the source of these errors.

I also researched my issue on Google, and it said something about MMS. Or maybe when I switched to Google App I might have clicked the wrong button when a question was prompted.
