Galaxy S24

I recently got a new Galaxy S24. I've received multiple photos since getting the phone with no issues, but as of two days ago, when people send me photos, they are so blurry that I can't see them, and I can't even click on them to enlarge. I saw another feed regarding the same issue (conversation from May 2024) and tried all of those solutions (turning off MMS, etc.), but nothing worked. I also switched it from google messages to Samsung messages and that didn't fix the problem either.

You should have stayed with Google messages and made sure RCS is turned on.  It could also be that the people sending you the photos are not yet using Google Messages RCS, and thus the pictures & videos are degraded.

I tried both. First, I was already using Google messages and RCS was turned on; that's when the photo came through blurry. Then, I came here and read an old article, and switched to Samsung messages, but the photos were still blurry. The photos/messages came from two different people. One person sent their photo from an android (on the same plan with me), and the other person sent their photo from an iphone. I've never had this problem before.

Did either one of them turn RCS on? Are they also using Google Messages? You can tell if they have RCS enabled if you see the blue indicator icon next to their ID 1735857297266.jpg

They both have those blue indicator icons next to their IDs. I don't know if they are using Google messages or not. I would assume the iPhone user isn't using Google messages, since apple is totally different from android, but maybe I'm wrong.

Hmm. Apple's incorporation of RCS should have eliminated that problem. What happens if they send the same image via Facebook messenger?
