Is there any way to prevent apps from continuing to operate even after they're closed? Or is this another Samsung feature that they've decided everyone must have just to make sure using your phone is as annoying as it could possibly be. To stop something from playing, I have to close the app, then Go to another screen to tell me how many apps are still active, then close them. I'm sure somebody loves this but to me it's yet another hassle, another example of a company forcing me to use my phone in a way I don't want to.

This is because most players don't have a "shutdown" button.  It should stop playing when you hit the pause button on the player.  If you want to shut the app down, open the task changer and slide the app off the screen to close it, or hit "close" all to close all recently used apps.

That's what I'm saying, I shut the app down, I close it, I close all apps, and it continues to play.

But, did you tap the pause icon? The only way I've ever been able to shut the music player off is to hit pause. So I got a music player that actually has an off button
