There seems to be a known problem with Android 16 and the new ONE UI8 upgrade. After you upgrade to ONE UI8 your device biometrics are working but your apps state "Device Biometrics not working".
Of course they are working as you can use it to log in to the phone, but many Banking Apps etc... all stop working as with the ONE UI8 upgrade these Apps state that Device Biometrics is not working or enabled.
You can restart, delete and add new fingerprints or whatever else nonsense people suggest - but there is a serious issue with Android 16 and ONE UI8.
WHEN WILL SAMSUNG FIX THIS !!!!!!!! ??????? Please acknowledge the problem, stop asking people to check their fingerprint sensor (it works) and let us know when you will fix it.
Are your banking apps inside secure folder? I had the same issue with my banking apps in the secure folder and had to delete and reteach the fingerprint inside secure folder.

SAMSUNG - stop telling people to check their fingerprint sensor, check their screen protector etc.... start making everyone aware - if your Apps are in the Secure Folder and you upgrade to ONE UI8 you MUST go to the Secure Folder and re-teach Biometrics IN THE SECURE FOLDER.
Else any App in Secure Folder will not work with Biometrics until you do it.
Go into the Secure Folder then click on the 3 dots top right side and then "Settings".......the go to "Secure Folder lock and biometrics" and there will be no Fingerprints there - you will see only PIN, so you go into that menu and just add new Fingerprints and then all will be working ok.
