Galaxy S23Almost all the images on my Galaxy S23 disappeared. I found them in 2 places: Trash and better still the Gallery Trash, which had ONLY the photos trashed by the system. Go to Gallery. Select the menu, bottom right. Select Trash. You can then select all, or specific pictures if you prefer, and restore them.

Galaxy S23Your photos all get backed up to Google unless you specifically and deliberately turned that off. So, if it ever happens again, you can also look in Google photos. If your photos disappeared from the gallery because you deleted them from Google photos, that's how they ended up in the trash. Deleting from within the gallery only deletes it from your phone, but the backup remains. Deleting it from within Google will delete it from both the backup and the phone. They stay in trash for 30 days so they can be recovered. So, only delete photos from the Google side that you no longer want to keep. If you are/were trying to clear up Google cloud space, the best thing to do would be to move your photos onto a flash drive or other external device.
