That will never happen. There is not enough Linux user to justify development

Did you have to root the phone to switch to Linux?  You will not get updates or support on a rooted phone.  Why would you buy an Android phone and then change the software?

You misunderstood them. Also android *is* linux. They didn't even mention rooting or changing their phones ROM anyways.

They're talking about smart switch, which has a windows and Mac os specific version but not a Linux (desktop PC, not phone) build.

Dude, you want Samsung to update your rooted device, big no, fullstop!
You also void the warranty on a rooted phone.
Congratulations on your ability to root your phone. Factory reset it, flash the software with Odin to official software so it can be updated. Then, root it again, rinse repeat until it runs out of support.

Just spin up a windows VM or dual boot. Why would you need a Linux specific smart switch? Have you tried running it in wine, lutris, or otherwise?

Regardless, download windows 11 for free from Microsoft's site, launch it in a VM, run the massgravel activator from the massgravel GitHub using the powershell method and you're done. No need for a windows exclusive device.

Even if you didn't want to run windows in a VM. You could dual boot, or boot it from a USB drive.

Also why do you NEED smart switch to update? Linux should still be able to see the phone as a drive and allow you to backup all your data. You could even plug a sd card into your phone and back it up that way.

Then just do a factory reset on the phone and get it updated.

Bit confused why any of this requires a Linux specific build of smart switch.
