Edge browser notifications

Is there a way to stop my Edge browser to stop notifying me of news items. I already went into notifications and deselected edge to no avail. TIA

You have to go to the settings in the app as well and turn off those notifications otherwise you do get a ridiculous amount of notifications, it's the same with any Microsoft browser
