The camera in my S23 is giving me trouble. When I'm going to take a picture and I want to zoom in, my camera locks up and stops working the only way I can get out of the problem is to reboot the phone. I'm lost as to what to do.
I hope someone can help me out.

I'm having the same issue... I updated the phone on 2/26 and 2 days after the camera stopped working. I've downloaded another camera, and it's the same issue. I conducted the diagnostic test, and it did detect that there's an issue with the camera. I contacted Samsung and granted them remote access, and they can't fix the issue. It's just weird, and there's no help at all. I restarted the phone in safe mode, and my last resort was to factory reset, but I'm having the same problem. It's messed up because whenever a new phone is launched, the older versions start giving a lot of issues, and no assistance is available because the focus is on the new products.

Same issue here. Camera fails after updates. It miraculously started working on its own and out of no where stopped working again after an update
I'm just sick and tired of it. I'm on vacation and can not take pictures. Why? Please bring an actual fix to the table. Safe mode, cache clearing/ wiping portions, restarting, resting camera settings etc DO NOT WORK. Please help..and please do not mark as Solved.

Hello user570ljKcrMO, welcome to the Samsung Community. I understand your frustrations with your camera not working properly. If your phone is displaying a "Camera Failed" message, freezing, lagging, or the preview is not working, the good news is that it's most likely a software issue and not a physical problem with the camera.

Open the Camera App, Tap Settings, Tap Reset Settings

Verify that your Camera App is on the latest software: Open Camera App, Tap Settings, About Camera

Clear the Cache Partition on your device: Power off your device, hold down the power and volume up buttons together until the logo appears and release the power button, Use the volume buttons to select Clear device partition, Once completed select reboot device

Factory Data Reset: Please be sure to back up your device before performing the reset 

If you are still having issues with your device after completing the steps please submit an error report: 

submit an error report by going to the Samsung Members app > Get help > Send feedback > Error reports.
