I have tried using the code *#06# to get my imei number, but I get error, "I'm sorry your request was not recognized"   Every code I've gotten elsewhere does not work either.   What is the correct S22 Ultra's code?

6th character. My apology. If you have a U1 (5th and 6th), it is factory unlocked. If yours is only U as indicated above, it is only network unlocked.

You can get your IMEI from Settings a lot of Carriers are now blocking the use of these codes
  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap on About phone.
  3. Tap on Status.
  4. Select IMEI information.
  5. The IMEI will be displayed.

hhmm, I've had some code I found on the net that was supposed to tell you if your device is locked or unlocked but gave me nothing....  So I'm really looking for the code to check if it is locked or unlocked.  It is supposed to be unlocked as I own the S22 Ultra.  Paid in full....

Ok, so, I found about 8 different sim's some from Verizon and others who knows... , but they did not change anything on my phone.  I still had service no matter which one was in....   I guess that means my phone is unlocked, correct?

Look at your model number. If the 5th character after SM- is 1 (i.e. U1), then your phone is unlocked. It can be network unlocked (without a 1) and will work with any physical SIM card as well.

Ah, thank you for the information...... Now the battle begins with Verizon. They keep telling me it is unlocked, but AT&T says it is not....
