It appears this phone was originally carrier-locked to T-Mobile and it's looking for updates from T-Mobile (not Metro) servers. Your options are:
1. If you have access to a computer, try using Smart Switch to see if you can get updates.
See "software update via Smart Switch on your Windows PC or Mac" on this page:

2. Temporarily install a T-Mobile SIM (it doesn't have to be active) to get updates. You will have to do this every time there's an update.
3. Take your phone to an authorized service center to have them flash unlocked firmware. There will be a fee for this service, but it will allow you to get OTA updates regardless of which carrier's SIM is installed. See this link to find a location near you:
