S22 screen keeps freezing and restarting

My phone periodically will freeze and restart, often doing it back to back. Sometimes upon the restart some of my widjets apps or even wallpapers are gone. Very frustrating I even backed up and factory reset the phone and it's still happening. It'll restart when I'm not even touching it, or when I'm in the middle of typing or listening to something. Does anyone have any solutions or ideas? Is anyone having the same issue?

I have left a comment down below of some fixes I have found. Please read if you are having this issue. also please make sure you guys are opening up Device Care every once in a while.

Thank you very much, I found it, but it did not work for me. My phone is worse than before, it was turned off about 10 times. 🫩 I don't know what happens with Samsung. 🤪

How unfortunate that Samsung is still unable to fix the software issue of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. My phone has been with the same problem since September 2025. It is not fair to buy an expensive phone that will hardly help you anymore.

My phone has started randomly restarting. Its happened with a bunch of different apps where it just freezes and craches and restarts. Sometimes several times in a row. I have tried booting into recovery mode to reset the cache but it won't go into that mode (tried with a pc and everything).

Now today it randomly switched my default message app and then later it changed my icon size and home screen layout.

I updated the OS 4 days ago, the day AFTER this initially started.

Ever since the latest software update happened, the phone system crashes and restarts randomly.

Have you wiped device cache?

1) Turn off your device.

2) Press and hold the Volume Up button and the Side/Power button until you feel a vibration and the Samsung logo appears. Let go of the buttons.

3) You will now be in Android recovery. Use the Volume buttons to highlight "Wipe cache partition."

4) Press the Side/Power button to execute.

5) Use the Volume buttons to highlight "Yes."

6) Press the Side/Power button to execute.

7) "Reboot system now" will already be highlighted. Press the Side/Power button to execute.

Performed these steps, slightly improved, but still restarting randomly. Cleared out all unnecessary apps and files. This only started happening after installing the latest software couple of days ago.

Make sure your apps are updated. You may also have a third-party app that is causing a conflict. You could try booting into safe mode and observing your phone for a while to see if it restarts on its own. If it's ok with no third-party apps enabled, you can eliminate them one by one until you find the culprit. This could be a painstaking process. Up to you if you want to try it.

Everything is update, just put it on safe mode, still ended up crashing and restarting, when I was performing a back up. Issue only started after this latest software update.
