I recently fully shattered my last S22 which was updated to one ui 7. I just got another S22 now is updated to Android 12 and one ui 4.1. The phone says it is up to date and the security patch is from August 1st 2022.

Where did you buy your phone? Who's your carrier?

Please share a screenshot of your about phone > software information screen (see attached pic).1767294762560.jpg

I'm guessing your mobile provider/current SIM isn't Verizon. It appears your phone was originally carrier-locked to Verizon and it's looking for updates from Verizon servers. Return the phone if you can and look for one that's factory unlocked (model name ends in U1). If it's no longer returnable, your options are:

1. If you have access to a computer, try using Smart Switch to see if you can get updates.

See "software update via Smart Switch on your Windows PC or Mac" on this page:

https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10002027/

2. Temporarily install a Verizon SIM (it doesn't have to be active) to get updates. You will have to do this every time there's an update.

3. Take your phone to an authorized service center to have them flash unlocked firmware. There will be a fee for this service, but it will allow you to get OTA updates regardless of which carrier's SIM is installed. See this link to find a location near you:

https://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/locations/

EDIT: If you are able to download updates, it will take a very long time to get the phone current, since it's so far behind.

I have straight talk which is owned by Verizon and is a Version sim card. I have a PC so I'll try that.

I'm pretty sure Straight Talk and Verizon have different update servers. See where Smart Switch gets you. Good luck!

I tried using smart switch from the Samsung website and the Microsoft store but both said the phone was up to date. I followed a tutorial as well. I'll try the Verizon sim card later today to see if that works.

You could get a cheap Verizon prepaid SIM and install that every time there's an update. The permanent solution would be to get unlocked firmware flashed.
