Once upon a time the AOD notification icons were colored to each App, for example Whatsapp was green and Instagram was red, which was extremely useful.

But now they're all white.

I would like the option to choose my colors for AOD notification icons specific to each app.

My recollection is that this was an Android decision that Samsung could not avoid. I keep waiting for either a UI update or an update in Lockstar to override this, but it is not happening thus far. I agree that the colored icons on AOD go way beyond aesthetics -- they were functional in that they made it much easier to tell at a glance which app was pushing notifications.

I just ran across an app that somehow uses its native icon color for AOD notifications. This was in the Libre app for the Freestyle Libre blood glucose monitor. How can one app get past this restriction when others can't, it how do we spread the joy?
