You are having calling issues and are trying to reset your phone?  It would be helpful if you wrote a complete paragraph on what you are trying to do and what you have done, instead of trying to fit your whole issue into a topic header.

In any case, make sure you are signed into your Google and Samsung accounts, then go to your settings and reset the phone. Knox should not interfere with this action if you are already signed in.  If you were signed out and tried to reset, Knox will ask for your Samsung password, but it it became unresponsive when you entered your password, that's a different issue.  If you were signed in and Knox asked you to verify your Samsung password (for the record, I have never been asked to do this for a reset while I was signed in), that is also an issue with Knox.

It seems like you might not have been keeping up with maintenance on your device if it hasn't updated in quite some time.  You might have to clear the phone's cache partition before you even attempt to reset in order for Knox to work properly.  If all else fails, you will need to contact tech support by putting in an error report through the feedback link  in the support tab of the members app.  This should be done immediately after a failed attempt at reset, so that the information will be contained in the log.

You have never seen this error message? Isn't this a standard issue? Log into the phone, your samsung. I don't have time to write endless paragraphs about the dozens of issues. How about you just simply shoot me a phone call to my number on file. Or shoot me an update like I tried to simplify for you. Period. 1763910573705.jpg

Hey, man. You are the one who needs help, you need to be clear about what is going on or no one can help you. Which is more troublesome, writing out your issue in proper paragraphs or living with a phone you can't make calls on, reset, or update?

To answer your question, no.  I have never gotten an Knox error message.  I have reset my phone a few times.  I have a factory unlocked phone and all my updates come when they are scheduled.  The S21 would be on its last update now anyway (if it had been  updated), so if this problem can't be solved, rather than waste any more time on it, perhaps you should go find a good Black Friday deal and upgrade so you will have a new and updatable phone.

You should put in an error report, since you don't appear to want to enable the helpers to help you, perhaps you'd have better luck with tech support.

Incidentally is your phone originally a factory unlocked phone or a carrier phone that has been unlocked and then you switched carriers?  How have you not noticed you have not updated since 2024? Was this a phone you had as a backup that you just took out of a drawer? Usually failure to update is because you had a carrier model phone and switched carriers after it was unlocked.  The phone looks for the update on the server of the carrier the phone was originally locked to.

As the message says, contact Samsung through the Members app. It's the support tab at the bottom of the app, on the right.

FYI, no one in this community (apart from some moderators) is a Samsung employee. We're all just users like you. You'll have to contact Samsung for support.

The screenshot you are first posted shows you are running Android 14/OneUI6.1.  How is anyone supposed to know you are running One UI 8/Android 16, as you never said.  You said your phone was not updating, so EVERYONE assumed your screenshot was correct.  You will now have to follow the instructions on your screen shot and contact support. I do not work for Samsung in any capacity, so it is not *my* company.
