I posted earlier but it was removed for some reason.

I have a Galaxy S21+ 5G. Since the last security update on September 1st, my screen freezes up at least once a week. Weird thing is the notification bar doesn't freeze and I can still slide it down. The bottom buttons also don't freeze but everything else does. I was using Nova Launcher and thought maybe something changed and that caused the issue. I have removed Nova Launcher and went back to the One UI 8 launcher. I still get the same issue. I haven't installed any new apps, only updated existing apps. Seems like issues started happening after the security patch. Any ideas what could be causing this or how to fix?

You can potentially alleviate performance issues by completing these steps for routine maintenence:

☆ Follow Samsung’s Best Practices Guide

In particular, clearing device cache is an important practice in order to clean up junk files and keep things running smooth.

See the guide here: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Tips-Tricks/Best-Practices-After-an-Update/ba-p/3200871?src=Shar...

☆ Use Samsung’s Good Guardians

Download Good Guardians and run its various modules. These modules optimize performance and can identify unusual behavior.

Download Good Guardians here: https://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.android.samsung.utilityapp

App Booster re-optimizes your apps. This should be run after an update.

Memory Guardian helps clear up device memory and boost performance.

☆ If the issue persists, you may attempt a factory reset. Be sure to back up data prior to reset to prevent data loss.

☆ If even a Factory reset doesn't alleviate the issue, you may consider visiting a certified Samsung repair center to fully diagnose the issue.

Yeah, it's there now. When I looked about 30 minutes after posting, it wasn't in my post history.

I finally figured out after all this time that the screen freeze is caused by taking a screenshot. I press volume down and power simultaneously to take screenshots and that's usually when the screen freezes. After playing around with it, I found that doing that when the screen freezes takes another screenshot and I'm able to use my screen again. Not sure what's causing it but it did start after the last security patch for Android 15.

It's not a screen freeze, it's a delay while the shot is taken.  It's normal.

There usually is a delay which can be disabled, but when taking a screenshot since the last security patch, the whole screen freezes except the bottom buttons and navigation bar. I'm unable to do anything else. I found taking another screenshot unfreezes the screen for some reason.
