I did the update like I also do and then noticed I was missing a lot of calls, texts, emails, etc. And then I realized it was bcuz my vibration is no longer working. Members Diagnostics says its malfunctioning, but gives no troubleshooting. I followed all troubleshooting from Samsung faq- checking my settings, restarting my phone, attempted to reinstall the update but it won't let me. I contacted support and they advised i reboot in safe mode, problem persisted. They then advised i wipe my cache partition. This also did not work. Only other thing they could suggest was submitting an error report here, but i can't figure out to do that.

Does anyone have ANY suggestions short of factory reset or paying for a repair service?

You go to the support tab in the Members app, there you will see send feedback.

Pick the category that best describes your problem. Choose often in frequency., then press the arrow button to send.

Do not close the members app while they collect your logs.

Yes, not right away.

Until you will have to have sound on.

It could be that the vibration motor is broken.

I considered that but I'm not sure how. I can't remember the last time I dropped my phone. I'm very careful to avoid water and moisture exposure, even with its IP rating.. And it worked perfectly fine until the update.

If its damaged, will repair be able to assess that without opening up the phone? I can't afford a costly bill right now, i was really hoping support would have some kind of patch

They would have to open the phone.

I am sorry for your troubles, but it is probably the vibration motor got dislodge somehow. It has probably been boiling in the background for a while, and a driver update did something more to it.

Have you run a diagnostic on the phone to test the vibration?  Diagnostics can be found in the device care settings of your phone or in the support tab of the Members app.  If any components come up with an error, sorry, you will have to pay for a repair or upgrade your phone - whichever is more practical for you.
