Galaxy S PhonesAccording to this post we need to download at least three non-Samsung apps in order to use our phones again after the One UI 7 update. I don't want to use third party apps. I know I'm weird, but I don't like putting a bunch of customization apps on my device.

Galaxy S PhonesWhat's not a Samsung App Goodlock is Samsung main customization app.
Edit: didn't see the battery widget that's the only thing that's not Samsung.

Galaxy S PhonesI don't believe people who say they don't download any apps to their phone except what the manufacturer provides. All downloaded apps not developed by the manufacturer are, by definition, third party.

Galaxy S PhonesThere are many kinds of apps and there are many reputable app developers. This is a Samsung forum. This is about Samsung apps, not third party apps. It's both unfair competition and a security issue to have third party apps advertised as cosmetic fixes here.

Galaxy S PhonesGoogle owns Android, not Samsung. If you have an issue with an Android change, discuss with Google instead of blaming Samsung.
You aren't required to download them. Samsung is "offering" them to people who would like to make changes.

Galaxy S PhonesIt's actually been argued that one UI 7 is such a departure from Android that it almost warrants being called it's own operating system. Android is open source, it is maintained by Google, but they are not benevolent dictators for life. Anyone can fork Android if they wish. Samsung have been given wide laterality to do whatever they want within the OS, and they have. Samsung is not powerless and these are Samsung devices.
Anyways, this post is about third party apps being recommended on a Samsung forum.
