Who decided that it was smart to have phones wobble on a flat surface?  Did someone ask for this?  Why not make the back flat and use the space for larger battery.

A case evens out the wobble, much as a shim does under an uneven table leg. Try one. Where do you think they are going to put the lenses? Do you want a good camera or a bigger battery? You want both? How thick and heavy do you want your phone to be? As if they weren't already uncomfortable to hold.

You can also, oh, I don't know, lie your phone face down on a flat surface or use a stand.

It's insane to me that some people walk around with a device that costs $800 to $1300 dollars, with as slippery as phones are today, with no phone case to protect it. Surely you aren't using a case because if you were you wouldn't have the wobble. Maybe the pixel 10 would be a better option for you? No wobble. Or you could go for the 9a, there's no lenses protruding from the back of the phone.

Yet they will bellow that they paid $1200 for a phone and they get advertising
missing features/changed settings
(name your inconvenience here).

I use a case always and using a case to fix the wobble was true until the s23 ultra. The s24 ultra cases added a raised lip around the lenses. It is getting even worse with the s26 ultra.

Try the Spigen nano pop, I'm using that on the s25 ultra and it's flat.

Better cameras = larger camera modules.

Phones are generally not getting thicker because 1) the average user doesn't really want that and 2) Major OEMs are currently hesitant to do things like divided Si-Ca battery cells because it introduces additional complexity and potential delays in international shipping. Chinese OEMs have less to lose in terms of global sales and are less hesitant as they aggressively try to break into the global market.

If you want a phone without a camera bump, you're going to get a worse camera - point blank, period.

Pixel 9a may be a good option for you if the camera bump is a sticking point.

A lot of it is due to the camera hardware. The camera deco houses all the cameras and their respective sensors. They had to build the "Bump". Cameras have evolved over the years and have gotten bigger, with larger hardware. I personally don't have any issues with my S25. The case does help even things out quite a bit.
