Restoring lost text and voicemails from lost phone to new phone

Help I need to restore my text and voicemails from a lost phone to my new phone. I believe the former was a Galaxy and this is a Samsung.

@MadreMorgan Galaxy is a Samsung. Did you make backups? I'm afraid that is the only way that you will be able to restore those items. 

If you happened to use Google Voice for voicemail, then all you need to do is log into Google Voice with your account to find all your voicemails.
