Galaxy S PhonesThey did not take away your customization options. You just have to redo them. The nature of such a major update is that settings get moved and turned on/off. So, not really like Apple, where you can't customize. Everybody's Apple looks just like everyone else's Apple.

Galaxy S PhonesAn even better option would be to have put an icon on the nav bar (or on the apps screen) to bring up the search bar with a tap when needed. That way it would be out of way and out of sight for those that don't use it, and easily available for those that do.

Galaxy S PhonesSure you can, but one would still have to deal with the search bar in a place they don't want it when they open their app drawer. It should be moveable to the location of the user's choice. I actually have no need of the search bar, as I generally know where every single one of my apps is in the app drawer (or at least what "page" it's on). If the vertical scroll puts everything into a long page alphabetically, one would only need the search bar to find hidden apps anyway, and if one uses them often, why would they hid them? It seems to me it would be much faster to scroll than type an app name.

Galaxy S PhonesI have made many suggestions in the feedback for pages in alphabetical order.

Galaxy S PhonesWhat's the point of that? Having folders in either configuration is desirable The apps within the folder won't be alphabetized, though. And if they are, or can be programmed that way, then it's easy enough for them to program alphabetical order for the horizontal scroll.

Galaxy S PhonesAgree with you. It's distracting and pointless for many including me. It's much faster to slide a page or two than typing. Actually, it should have been optional only with ability to turn it off entirely.
1. I don't need it
2. It messed up my finger movement habits I got used to
3. I would prefer one more row for app icons instead
I simply hate UI 7 including both its solutions and color palette. Couldn't find any improvements, but they messed up so many things instead. Will never buy anything Samsung anymore. After my TV, here is another device category they messed up with total unnecessary software updates.

Galaxy S PhonesThey could have also just made it a magnifying glass in the bottom corner. That may have been OK with everyone. Tap to reveal the search bar, out of the way if you don't need it.

Galaxy S PhonesYeah it makes sense... I open it once, search for a specific app. Then for the remainder of the day I click the bar at bottom then have to click the recently opened app all the way on top. So yes, one out of a hundred times I click the bar, its conveniently placed at bottom. The other 99 out of a 100, it inconveniently placed away away from recently opened apps. (I'm in IT, so I'm constantly opening a few select apps repeatedly. Its very annoying have to jump my thumb from very bottom to very top).
