I got a new expensive Samsung Galaxy cellular communicator ("slab phone") about a week ago from Samsung USA, and it's unlocked by Samsung..

But, almost immediately after a few updates and personalizations the display size somehow became shrunken, leaving a width of unused pixels top bottom & sides.. see pic.

I don't want to reset and start all over to fix this.., has anyone had this issue too and fixed it..?

It is a model agnostic issue from everything I've read so far..

UPDATE: I found my answer, it's was really my imagination that my display was larger than shown, it turns out that this is truly how little my display extends to the sides top & bottom of the phone, I guess I was used to having more, oh well.

Ty all vm for trying to guess the answer, there are indeed displays that shrink after updates or bc of software problems, but in this case it's just how Samsung made this phone, maybe yours too.

Go to Settings > Display > Screen zoom and font and set everything back to default. Then check Settings > Display > Full screen apps and make sure all apps are set to use the full screen. If you have any accessibility settings like magnification or reduced animations turned on, try turning them off and restart your phone.

If the screen still looks smaller or sometimes goes black, restart your phone in Safe Mode to see if an app is causing it. If it keeps happening, clear the cache partition or update your phone’s software. That usually fixes black screen issues.

Thanks for the help! That worked well. Where can I check for the black screen issue to see what’s actually causing it?
