I got a new expensive Samsung Galaxy cellular communicator ("slab phone") about a week ago from Samsung USA, and it's unlocked by Samsung..

But, almost immediately after a few updates and personalizations the display size somehow became shrunken, leaving a width of unused pixels top bottom & sides.. see pic.

I don't want to reset and start all over to fix this.., has anyone had this issue too and fixed it..?

It is a model agnostic issue from everything I've read so far..

UPDATE: I found my answer, it's was really my imagination that my display was larger than shown, it turns out that this is truly how little my display extends to the sides top & bottom of the phone, I guess I was used to having more, oh well.

Ty all vm for trying to guess the answer, there are indeed displays that shrink after updates or bc of software problems, but in this case it's just how Samsung made this phone, maybe yours too.

Try rebooting your phone.
Power down then turn back on.

Well.. there's actually nothing more, everything on the last pic is already off.., so we can assume it's not any of those accessibility settings..

Try turning off Accidental touch protection and Extra dim in your display settings, then restart your phone. Sometimes these features can change how the screen looks or make it appear darker around the edges.

If it still looks the same, start your phone in Safe Mode to check if an app is causing it. If the display suddenly goes black or flickers, it could be a system glitch. In that case, go to Settings > Battery and device care > Diagnostics > Display test to make sure the screen itself is fine. A quick software update or cache wipe usually fixes black screen problems like that.

What is the model? The only help I could provide is it a A series model? Any settings turned on or off?

The poster doesn't wish to disclose which phone they are using.
Why, beats me.
