Legacy S PhonesIf you tap on the notification, it will bring you directly to that time's medication list, where you can check which medication is due and mark as taken. I assume you mean the phone notification. If you are using a watch, you would tap on the notification and then tap on "show on phone". Again, it will open your time slot's list.

Legacy S PhonesThis is an older post, but you can go into the health app, tap the medication tile, tap the dot menu and select reminder settings. After you tap reminder settings, you will see an option to show medication name. Turning this on should show you which medications you need to take.
