For 3 years now I start off the year excited counting the months and the days for the next big ultra. Then slowly as the year progresses and the rumors and leaks start showing up online that excitement starts to fade away.
I love my s23 ultra. I have since the instant I first turned it on. I felt the same way about all the other samsung phones I've owned and there has been alot of them. Well except the s22 ultra that one was just ok.
So I'm allways looking for the next best thing and I upgrade exery year or two at the most. The exception being the last 2 years.
I did purchase the s24 ultra. I knew it wasn't much of an upgrade but I liked the flat screen. KkBut when I got it I spent about 5 min looking at the grainy wonky display iy then packed it back up and returned it to Samsung.. Firgured the 25 was gonna be the one to impress. But as time went on it looked more and more like that was not going to be the case. I got so far as to have that phone in my cart but just couldn't pull the trigger. I couldn't justify handing samsung $600 bucks and a phone I loved for pretty much nothing but a little AI no boost to ram or battery or charging speed and getting a piece of junk stylus instead of the spen I loved. So I deleted the cart and said I'm good for now 26 will be the year.
{But once again what started out sounding good isw unfortunately just another year of wishful thinking it's looking like. So I'm trying to ^convince my self to just give up now instead of spending the next 3 months hoping thst Samsung is going to surprise us with something great only to be let down once again.
I would say maybe 27 is finally gonna be the one but I have a ;feeling 27 will be the year the spen is going to go the way of the Dodo. The lure of the cash samsung can pocket but not including it is to compelling for them. Ditch the spen and raiising the price of the phone will be a nice extra bit of progit. Andbletebe honest that's all Samsung really cares about nowadays. They are motivated by cash the customer means nothing anymore. And that's pretty sad.
But there is hope. I read some Chinese flagships are going to be making it the US market so maybe that will haopen. It would be nice to be able to buy a phone from a company that cares about their customers again. Like samsung used to. I wouodnt hesitate walking away from Samsung just like they have done to all of us.
There are stores that carry the phones and you can and should go examine any device you are thinking of purchasing, so you can see what it's like in real time without going through the time and expense of purchasing and returning it when it doesn't meet your expectations. The Samsung website lists the specifications and features and many tech websites give the full rundown in even more detail. If you are such a technophile that you wait in anticipation every year, you should know about these sites.
Seriously, it feels like all the big tech companies are just phoning it in lately. You've got the usual suspects releasing phones that are barely different from last year's model. It's a bit disheartening to see such little genuine progress. Meanwhile, some Chinese companies are actually coming up with cool new ideas, though the privacy concerns are definitely a bit of a worry. Guess we'll have to see how things shake out.
