Why in the world is image stacking not a standard feature for the camera app???

Google photos allows to group similar images together.  I think the poster is asking about taking multiple pictures and stacking the images on top of each other to create a single image.

Yeah I don't think its a option because that's an editing option which needs to be done in a photo editor not the camera.

But the process and identification of these types of photos can be done in the camera app. If the camera can at least automate the various focal depths and picture snapping it would allow for simple clean user experience and as stated let gallery do the stacking.

Yes. That's what I mean. Trying some long exposure galaxy pictures. Stacking would be an option and I've read of people doing it.

@Archsung They do use it, especially for night mode and astro photography.

But it's that stacking for just leaving the shutter open for the 3,6,9ish sec.?

@Archsung It combines multiple images to increase focus and clarity. If it just held shutter open for a long time, the images would smear because of the motion.
