How can I get the highlight feature in the calendar back?

In the calendar of s20 phone the days used to highlight when an event was added. Several upgrades ago the highlight feature went away,  how do I get th I s feature back? Have looked at settings and permissions and nothing stands out to turn on. HELP

I don't use calendar much, but if you go to your calendar, tap 3 lines at the top left, then tap on a gear icon. Once there you will see multiple settings.

There is toggle in my screenshot named: highlight short events.
For example I have an event on a specific day and that can be shown as a vertical line in the calendar or can be fully colored.
