If the latest rumors are to be true, I am going to be very disappointed. I have the Galaxy S23 Ultra and have been looking for a real upgrade to it with future Galaxy S Ultra models. The 26 ultra, if rumors are to be true, will disappoint again. I usually upgrade every two years, but Samsung has grown so complacent. So, no 16gb ram US market, same 5000mah battery, same HP2 sensor, no upgrade on 3x zoom, same 2600 nits of brightness, you get the point. These areas are what I'm looking to see get upgraded. I'll hold out once again or finally take my money somewhere else. We'll see what Google does with the Pixel 11 and Tensor G6.

I feel you. I also have an S23U and went for the S25U upgrade early this year, only to return it because it didn't seem like much of an upgrade. I'm also underwhelmed by what I'm seeing about the S26U. Samsung's "play it safe" strategy year after year has gotten extremely old. I'm no longer willing to fork over hard-earned money for annual incremental changes, especially when they don't add up to significant changes over 2-3 years. Something seriously needs to change.

I have 23U to and only care about the software. The AI stuff they can remove. I used interpreter people, and I looked at me like an **bleep**. I have no idea what they saw. Call assist even worse people hang up on me, lol.๐Ÿ˜‚

I think now that they have longer update cycles and the top line phones are more expensive, most people are not inclined to update every two years anymore and, therefore, Samsung is less inclined to make anything other than incremental changes.

I think, in some cases, Samsung just can't win with some users - if they make changes too radical people don't like it, if they make smaller incremental changes, people don't like it.  Let's not even get into what people think about the UI updates.  Bottom line is people don't like change, even though they claim to want it.  One only has to look at the absolute mayhem that ensued (and is still ongoing), when Samsung took away the power button mute.

Sometimes compromises are made in hardware to keep to a certain price point.  Samsung, like every company, is in business to sell products and make a profit.  There is only so much a consumer is willing to pay - even if a new device has every feature they were dreaming of.

I get you, but the changes I'm looking for are already being done with Chinese phones. Apple has improved battery, brightness, ram and cameras. I am not one of those customers you are speaking of, and yes I know manufacturers are in the business to make money. I'm talking 3 plus generations later and we're still getting same 5000 mah battery, same HP2 sensor, brightness, ram even lowered in US market. These are much needed upgrades, especially ram for on board AI that they're so heavily advertising. Not everyone wants to use the cloud. The upgrades I'm speaking of are real world upgrades that a modern phone needs. The long updates and people don't like change is an excuse.

And before anyone gets in a tizzy, I know there's a shortage going on with memory. They could still offer a phone with 16gb ram all regions and I'm sure there are people willing to pay for it. I am one of those people.

If AI isn't your thing fine, but that doesn't speak for everyone.

And I know Samsung is supposedly bringing LPDDR6 ram vs LPDDR5X, but โ€” capacity still matters a lot with on device AI even with LPDDR6โ€™s improvements. Faster memory and wider lanes help, but they do not replace having enough RAM, especially for on-device AI.
