on my s20 fe phone which is on a public mobile plan with canada us and mexico included I am completely missing the settings to turn on data roaming.  Under mobile networks all I have is

roaming state

Not roaming

And both are grayed out.  I have switched Sims to my wife phone and data roaming works on her phone with my sim

I have spoken to a very helpful tech support at public mobile and he had me do some resets which did not help

Any ideas?

Let me add yes it is an issue.   When my phone does connect to another provider, ie US Based, then I get "No Internet" even though I have a good connection.   This is because I have no way to enable the data roaming that I have paid for, and that my provider says is working on their end.

Wifes S21 has these options, and gets internet in the same location.

This is why you should post in the Canadian forum. It's quite possible that others (who may even have the same mobile provider) have experienced similar issues and can provide assistance.

So, all that out of the way, does anyone on here actually have an S20 FE and can say if they do or do not have the options to turn on Roaming, per sim or otherwise.  It is normally the top item under Connections, Mobile Networks?

Also, do you have a setting to choose if you prefer 4G, 3G (LTE) or 2G connections?  That is also missing from my phone.

I have Android 13 and one-UI 5.1 which is apparently the last update available for this phone.

Nobody else having this issue?

In short to repeat my Samsung S20FE has no settings for allow data roaming, and also no settings for choice of 5G, 4G/LTE anywhere in the settings.   Wifes Samsung S21 does have these settings using same provider.

My phone is an unlocked "Amazon Renewed" purchase, so it may have part of the locked aspect left in place.

Question is there any way to fix this short of a factory reset, which may not even work if it restores the original locked status....
