on my s20 fe phone which is on a public mobile plan with canada us and mexico included I am completely missing the settings to turn on data roaming.  Under mobile networks all I have is

roaming state

Not roaming

And both are grayed out.  I have switched Sims to my wife phone and data roaming works on her phone with my sim

I have spoken to a very helpful tech support at public mobile and he had me do some resets which did not help

Any ideas?

Sorry, this is the US Samsung Members community. You should ask your question in the Canadian community:

Because the OP is in Canada, with a phone on a Canadian carrier.

Roaming is whenever you are connected to a provider that is not your own.   Some plans allow you to connect to other providers when your own does not have a tower nearby.

My wife S21 has these options, and every other phone I have had has these options.

In general roaming is done automatically but depending on coverage its not used often

It is for me. T-Mobile partners with other carriers to provide continuous service. When you're on a partner network, it displays as roaming. In my area, that can happen a lot.
