So does anyone know if it is possible to rollback to One UI 6.1, keep getting security updates for 6.1, and stay with 6.1 until One UI 8 is available?

This battery drain issue is ridiculous. Wasting half a day getting everything reverted back to how I had it setup before the update was bad enough, but this persistent battery drain issue no matter what steps I take to mitigate it is infuriating.

My phone feels warmer, it can't possibly be good for the battery, and I'm getting 2 to 3 hours less run time per charging cycle than I did before the update. Is this going to turn into one of those class action lawsuits where multitudes of people sue for phone batteries degrading/failing faster than they should have?

Sorry for the rant, but... 🤦‍♂️

I tried to search first, but as you said, there are so many complaint posts that I got lost in the fray, so to speak. I'm just glad someone was friendly enough to reply with that link to my post.

There are many of us regulars are more than happy to help with question.

The regulars are also getting frustrated by the ranters not asking how to change some of the things back. It's like they have never used settings in their quick panel ever. Never edited their quick panel with the buttons they use the most, buttons that they never knew existed. Those people amaze me.

Do me a big favor, report back if this works for you.

Then I can link to your post for solutions for others.

I don't know, my friend, but I decided to listen to you and I will do the same as you, putting everything into making sure that the applications do not work in the background. And see how my phone's is going to work..

It's worth a try, and it seems to be working for me. So far, my battery usage is pretty much back to normal now.

in my case, none of my Deep Sleep A14/OUI6 apps were re-awakened by A15/OUI7. have excessive battery drain w/ Power Saving enabled.

ppl should still double-check Deep Sleep & manually Disabled [cr]apps. zeroing out will eat battery like a demon.

Id also check to see what apps dan override certain processes. Luckily, my sleep apps didn't revert but the update did change some of the special access permissions

Hello regarding the battery drain issues. I came across a couple of videos on tiktok, where people had enough time in their day to check every single inch of the settings on their phone after the update. And it turns out the update, turned some stuff back on automatically that we all may have had turned off before. The settings below that are circled were automatically turned back on after the update. Once I turned these off, my battery performance started to get a little better. It's still not back to what it was before, but it has gotten a little better. I have noticed that some of my apps are a little laggy as well. Before the update, I had no issues uploading videos to my snapchat. But after the update, now it's taking up to 25 minutes to post a video on my snapchat. Depending on how long it is. There's also a video on how you turn the notification, drop down menu back to only being one page instead of it being two pages like the iPhone. Also, the function to where the phone is always scanning for devices. Also got turned back on. I'm sure a lot of us prefer that to be on cause. I guess yeah, it detects those apple. Eye tags around you.
