In response to the post made by luckyj, about the comeback of the sd card slot, I guess it was just a missed time, and maybe being old fashioned. A reminisce of a old memory, I understand that times have changed and there are cloud storage, and bigger storage on phones themselves, but who wants to be tied to a subscription for cloud storage, there got to be more free ways to have more memory and storage space. Instead of downloading files to a computer, and paying annual or monthly for a subscription to expand cloud storage. That's why I thought the SD card slot could make a comeback.

While I wouldn't expect the SD card slot to ever make a comeback, you don't have to play for cloud storage. You can still use external drives. This is the one I used most recently when upgrading from my previous device.

These kinds of drives are comparable in price to SD cards and serve to free up space on your device's internal storage.

Also, Samsung has a long history of offering free storage upgrades as promotional offers. Keep an eye out for those promotions when you consider your next upgrade. My current device is a 512GB and I paid the same price as the base model.

Everyone wants free stuff.  No one thinks anyone should have to pay for anything.  If you want cloud storage that you can access from anywhere and you are going to use more than is offered for free, then you would pay for a subscription or utilize multiple free cloud storage options. if you want "free" storage, then you would have to utilize a flash drive (which you can carry around with you on a keychain) or an external SD card reader, which is also portable.  The only difference between an SD card slot and a flash drive is that the SD card slot is internal so you don't have to keep mounting and unmounting it.  There is no need for it on an every day basis as most phones have more than sufficient drive space for every day use and one can free up space when they need to by offloading infrequently used files.
