I miss the notification LED

I recently jumped from a Samsung S9 to a S25FE. The new phone is much faster... But, I really miss that notification LED.

I even once had a Note II that had that LED. Samsung has used it on models for years... I don't understand why they got rid of it. It's great for when you miss a call, or you are not in the room when a text or email comes in. I think it's a step backwards not to have it.

Anyone else agree? Miss it too?

Samsung removed the dedicated notification LED starting with the flagship Galaxy S10 series in 2019. Unfortunately, I don't believe that Samsung will bring it back.

I don't think any OEM is bringing it back. The notification light has gone the way of the headphone jack.

AOD largely does away with need for a notification LED.

If it is an absolute must have, Clicks Communicator is the only device I am aware of that intends to bring back the notification LED.

I cannot recommend the Communicator as it is a first gen product from a company that has never made a phone before, the phone has not been released, and no one has handled a functional unit thus far, but it's your best bet for legacy features like headphone jack, notification LED, and SD Cards.

I don't like or use AOD. No longer having a notification light was a big adjustment for me, at the time. But I got over it and tap to wake works just fine.

It'll be interesting to see how the Clicks Communicator does. I still don't get the whole concept of it as a secondary device. But if it works for people, great.

AOD is a feature I didn't really understand until I started using it, now it's a must for me personally.

I really think the "secondary device" marketing is just to help users manage expectations when it comes to specs. I imagine most people who really want this thing are going to use it as a main.

I'll admit I'm interested. Sets off all the nostalgia centers in my brain. I just don't think I could daily the thing, but I'd love to be wrong about that.

Use Goodluck. I have notification indicators on my phone. You can add edge lighting, many options are available.
